Germany: Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Tower Sauna Experience at monte mare Kreuzau

The foundation stone for a new attraction was laid recently at monte mare Kreuzau in the Düren district (in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia). In the future, a special sweat offer for guests is to be created there at a height of ten meters: a tower sauna. According to the operating group, this will probably be the highest free-standing sauna in Germany and offer visitors a stunning panorama view of the local recreation area Rureifel through a completely glazed front. District Administrator Wolfgang Spelthahn is pleased that monte mare is continuing to invest in the location: “I am convinced that the tower sauna, as a further tourist highlight, will attract people seeking quiet and relaxation not only from the Düren district, but also from neighboring federal states.” Around 580,000 euros will be invested in the project.

The sauna with shower area will be 60 square meters in size. The cabin will be supported by a slender round column with a diameter of around 1.40 meters. Access will later be possible via a staircase from the sauna terrace. The monte mare group of companies operates several leisure pool, sauna and wellness facilities in Germany and has been doing so for over 35 years. (eap)
