As the Spanish operator group Parques Reunidos announced this week, the Italian Mirabilandia amusement park, part of the group's portfolio, is set to open a new theme area in 2019, dedicated to the Italian motorcycle brand Ducati. The 35,000 square meter large "Ducati World" theme area will open a versatile offer for motorcycle fans and amusement park visitors alike: In addition to a next-generation rollercoaster simulating a thrilling motorcycle ride, there are also plans for simulator attractions, virtual reality applications and children's rides. Iconic Ducati models will be on display in a showroom, furthermore there will be a shop as well as several themed restaurants.

“This partnership and investment will transform Mirabilandia, empowering the park to attract visitors from all over the world. ‘Ducati World’ continues the Italian strong tradition for sports and automotive and provides an engaging and innovative experience for motorcycling fans. Ducati is a global brand with a great reputation, as well as a strong local presence,” explained Fernando Eiroa, CEO of Parques Reunidos.

Alessandro Cicognani, Ducati Licensing & Corporate Partnership Director, added, “’Ducati World’ will give visitors a chance to live an exciting journey inside the Ducati brand. Thanks to this agreement, together with Parques Reunidos we’re developing the first motorcycle-themed area in an Italian amusement park. Mirabilandia’s location, at the heart of the Motor Valley, adds further value to this project dedicated to fun,” said Cicognani. Ducati Motor Holding – a subsidiary of Audi AG – is headquartered in Bologna, about an hour’s drive from Mirabilandia, which is located close to Ravenna. (eap)
