USA: Hersheypark Reveals Details on “Candymonium“ Rollercoaster

Set to become the signature attraction of its new “Chocolate Town” theme area, which is currently under construction (cf. EAP News f. 17 Jan 19), Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark recently revealed details on the “Candymonium” rollercoaster, scheduled to open in summer 2020.

The new ride attraction will be a 64 meter (210 feet) high Hyper Coaster from Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, with a track length of 1.4 kilometers (4,636 foot) and a ground space of 2.8 hectares (7 acres). Three differently designed coaster trains (featuring the Hershey chocolate brands Kisses, Reese’s & Twizzlers) will rush through Chocolate Town, reaching maximum speeds of 122 km/h (76 mph). Track highlights include seven camelback hills for thrilling airtime moments as well as a Hammerhead curve, inclined by 123 degrees.

The new attraction will be the park’s 15th rollercoaster. (eap)
