New Roller Coaster at Kennywood Amusement Park

Kennywood Amusement Park in Pennsylvania / USA plans to open a new launch coaster in May 2010. The new attraction, the seventh roller coaster of the park, will be installed at the current location of the “Turnpike”, a ride that is planned to be brought back in the near future. Thanks to the Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM)-technology, the launch coaster accelerates to around 80 km/h (50 mph) within three seconds. The coaster built by Premier Rides has a track length of 640 metres (2100 ft) and offers its guests three inversions. Two trains with two cars each can accommodate a total of 12 persons. (eap)
