USA: National Comedy Center Voted “Best New Museum 2020“

The National Comedy Center in Jamestown (NY, USA), which opened its doors for the first time in 2018 and is dedicated to the American comedy scene (cf. EAP News of 14 Aug 2018), received a first place award in USA Today’s “10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2020” voting campaign, in the new category of “Best New Museum”. The cultural institution was one of 20 new museums nominated for the award, which all opened over the past two years in the US and Canada. Last year, the Comedy Center was already voted second place in the “Best New Attraction” category by USA Today readers.

“We are tremendously proud to be named the Best New Museum in the United States and Canada. We have reimagined the museum experience with immersive exhibit design and unprecedented personalization. This distinction is a testament to the significance of comedy, and talented comedic artists, to our culture and our daily lives […],” said Journey Gunderson, National Comedy Center Executive Director.

Shawn McCoy, Vice President of Cincinnati-based JRA company, which provided the planning, design and project management for the National Comedy Center, added: “We are thrilled that the National Comedy Center has received this well-deserved award. Through its combination of personalized exhibit experiences, one-of-a-kind interactives, and continuous programming, the Center has established itself not only as an engaging visitor attraction, but also as a much-needed ambassador for the comedic arts.” (eap)
