USA: Universal Orlando Resorts Begins A Phased Reopening In June

As the first large-scale theme park resort in Orlando/Florida the Universal Orlando Resort has announced its phased reopening as of June 5th. The reopening is bound to new and enhanced safety and hygiene procedures based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and health officials. Screening, spacing and sanitization are the three main procedures.

“We want to invite guests back to our theme parks in a cautious and thoughtful way. We have put new health and safety procedures in place for both our team members and guests. And we have worked hard to make sure our guests can enjoy their time with family and friends. Doing this the right way will take all of us – and we need everyone’s help. Guests should follow our guidelines and continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC and health officials,” said Tom Williams, CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts.

Visitors and employees will be required to have their temperature checked before entering the parks (anybody with a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius / 100,4 Farenheit will not be allowed to enter). Additionally, evry person on site will have to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Furthermore, the parks will reduce daily park attandence, reduce attraction ridership, increase cleaning and disinfection of highly frequented public spaces such as restrooms and offer contactless payment solutions. As it comes to rides and restaurants the parks will offer the opportunity of virtual queuing.

The phased reopening will include Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay. Universal CityWalk Orlando recently began with the reopening process on May 14th. (eap
