USA: Kalahari Resorts Opens Fourth Waterpark Resort Destination

The resort operating group Kalahari Resorts, which is owned by the Nelson family, recently announced the opening of its fourth waterpark resort location Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center Round Rock – the groundbreaking ceremony had been celebrated in May 2018 (cf. EAP news 17 May 2018). Round Rock is now the first Kalahari location in Texas and the South West USA and includes an around 20,000 square metres-large (223,000 square feet) indoor water park. The new water world features a variety of water experiences suited for families, including 30 water slides, 20 pools and whirl pools as well as a one hectare-large (three acres) outdoor pool.

Furthermore, the resort offers 975 guest rooms and includes several restaurants, spa offerings, live entertainment and a convention center. Guests of every age are welcome to play and get active at the integrated Tom Foolerys Adventure Park, which features thrill rides, zip lines, climbing walls, miniature golf, bowling and laser tag.

Todd Nelson, owner of Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, says: “We’re proud to be able to open the Round Rock location as scheduled despite what a challenging year it’s been for everyone. The $550 million resort brings much needed tourism dollars and hospitality jobs to the area and offers a welcome getaway for locals and travelers.” (eap)
