Spain: ¡Arriba el Telón! – Puy du Fou España Opens Its Gates & Premieres Four Spectacular Daytime Shows

After several years of planning and construction and the successful premiere of the evening show "El Sueño de Toledo" in summer 2019 (cf. EAP News of 4 Sept 2019), the "Gran Parque" Puy du Fou España finally opens its gates today, letting visitors embark on a journey through Spanish history with four spectacular daytime shows and four historic themed villages.

Located in the mountains of the historic city of Toledo (about an hour's drive from Madrid), the park is the world's first offshoot of the French Puy du Fou park in the Vendée, which is one of France's most successful leisure destinations, attracting some 2.2 million visitors annually. Puy du Fou Spain adapts the successful concept and brings important epochs of national history to life with dedicated shows, including the voyages of discovery of Christopher Columbus and the Al-Andalus period.

So from today, visitors can enjoy this completely new kind of leisure offer in Spain. Due to the ongoing pandemic, strict hygiene and social distancing rules must be observed, but these will certainly not detract from the experience of the elaborately produced shows. Read all about Puy du Fou España in our upcoming EAP issue, to be published in early May. (eap)
