(eap) With Perfect Day Mexico, Royal Caribbean International plans to open a new exclusive leisure destination on the Mexican Caribbean coast in fall 2027. The over 200-acres (80-hectare) destination, which will be part of Western Caribbean travel itineraries from Galveston, New Orleans and various Florida ports, is being developed to attract guests from all over the world, particularly with a range of record-breaking water attractions – including what it claims to be the tallest slide tower in North and South America and the longest lazy river in the world.

The heart of the offer will be the “Loco Waterpark”, with a total of over 30 water slides across five towers. One of the waterpark’s highlights will be the more than 170-foot (50-metre)-tall “Jaguar’s Peak” slide tower, which is set to become home of the longest water slide coaster in the world. The slides line-up will be complemented by hydrolaunch slides that powerfully accelerate sliders, as well as a slide in the shape of a Mexican sombrero. Families will be able to enjoy one of the highest rafting slides with multi-person boats, while younger visitors will find their own children’s areas with slides.

The second central area, “Splash Cove”, will feature further highlights with an hour-long lazy river – including optional action passages with waves and rapids – as well as a pool measuring over 100,000-square-feet (approx. 9,300-square-meters). With “Splashaway Bay” – a water play area for kids – and special cabanas for families, the youngest guests will also be catered for.

According to the plans, Perfect Day Mexico is divided into a total of seven so-called “Neighborhoods”: In addition to the “Loco Waterpark” and “Splash Cove”, there is the adults-only area “El Hideaway” with party cabanas, DJ and swim-up bar, the “Costa Beach Club”, an exclusive beach club experience with private pool, personal service and upscale dining, the “Chill Beach North and South” – two extensive beach sections with a total of around two miles (three kilometres) of sandy beach – as well as the colourful “Fiesta Plaza” entrance area with Mexican flair, live music and dining options.

A total of twelve dining options and 24 bars will be available, including six swim-up bars. With Perfect Day Mexico, Royal Caribbean is expanding its destination line up, which also includes Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, which opened in 2019. In addition to the “Perfect Day” locations, Royal Caribbean plans to develop further private destinations such as the Royal Beach Clubs Paradise Island (end of 2025) and Cozumel (2026) as well as the Royal Exclusive Destination Lelepa (early 2027). ■
