“Prehistoric Planet” Experience Exhibition at Port des Lumières

“Prehistoric Planet” Experience Exhibition at Port des Lumières

(eap) Starting 13 December 2025, the immersive art centre Port des Lumières operated by Culturespaces in Hamburg, Germany, will present a new exhibition: created in collaboration with Apple TV, BBC and London-based studio Lightroom, “Prehistoric Planet: Dinosaurs – The Immersive Experience”. With captivating stories and atmospheric imagery from the Apple TV series “Prehistoric Planet”, which was nominated for an Emmy Award, the exhibition is intended to let visitors immerse themselves in the wonders of a prehistoric world. The exhibition is accompanied by the original soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman and Kara Talve. The various chapters of the show – from “Raising Young Dinosaurs” to “Patterns of Evolution” – are narrated by the voice of Christian Brückner (German voice actor for, among others, Robert De Niro and Robert Redford).

Mike Gunton, Executive Producer of “Prehistoric Planet” and Creative Director of the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, explains: “I always imagined the show ‘Prehistoric Planet: Dinosaurs – The Immersive Experience’ as a journey in a time machine – and that is exactly what this immersive experience makes possible. To be surrounded by the most incredible creatures the Earth has ever seen, to see them in their actual size and to understand their lives 66 million years ago: that is a dream come true for a nature documentary filmmaker.”

“We are very proud to be able to present this new show from Culturespaces and Lightroom at Port des Lumières. The impressive programme is an absolute highlight of the pre-Christmas season – an experience for young and old, for families, for school classes and for fans of elaborate nature documentaries. What our visitors will experience here is spectacular, unforgettable and at the same time instructive. Once again, it becomes clear that Port des Lumières lives up to its aspiration of making a wide range of topics – from art to science to contemporary and natural history – immersively experienceable at the highest level,” emphasises Jan-Peter Becker, Managing Director of Port des Lumières.

The “Kids’ Atelier” at Port des Lumières is also adapting its content to the new exhibition – here, young visitors can, among other things, color in dinosaur-themed motifs and project them onto the walls via scan. The content for this was created by the Spectre Lab design studio. ■
