(eap) A new dining venue opened today at the Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Florida. Located right next to the water attraction “Pirates of the Caribbean”, guests can now visit the themed bar “The Beak and Barrel”. Here, visitors can enjoy food and drinks in a lovingly staged pirate setting – including communal tables, a chandelier made of an anchor with candlelight, mine-style windows, and a bar in the shape of a skull. Special corners such as the “Captains’ Quarters” with a fireplace, model ships and wood paneling, as well as the “Mapmaker’s Room” with nautical charts intensify the ambience.
The design of the new venue follows its own backstory: the tavern is said to have been founded by the fictional pirate captain “Merry Goldwyn” and is run by her talking parrot “Rummy”. During their visit, guests may also be drawn into spontaneous sea shanties and stories from the world of pirates.

Stays at the bar are limited to 45 minutes per group. Alcohol consumption is permitted for guests aged 21 and older, requires a valid ID, and is limited to two drinks per person. The menu includes tropically inspired food and beverages for all ages – including non-alcoholic specialties. The experience is complemented by live elements such as group singing of sea shanties and storytelling with surprises.
The offering also includes thematically matching merchandise, available at the nearby “Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar” – among them a “Beak and Barrel” T-shirt and a plush parrot. ■
