(eap) Adventureland Long Island in Farmingdale, New York, will open the world’s first “Wave Twist L” from Swiss manufacturer RES Rides this coming weekend. The new family attraction will operate in the park under the name “Wave Twister”. The installation features a so-called “boomerang effect”: Two gondolas, each with ten seats arranged in a circle facing outward, are mounted on a dynamic platform that rotates during the ride along an approximately 279 feet (85 meters) long, L-shaped track at a height of up to 60 feet (18 meters).

A ride lasts more than two minutes and is approved for guests from a height of 36 inches (90 centimeters) when accompanied by an adult, and from 48 inches (120 centimeters) riding alone.

In 2022, the park opened “Fireball”, a roller coaster of the “Roller Ball” type from RES Rides. Similar to this attraction, the new Wave Twist L also features a comparatively compact layout that fits into the park’s “Legacy Corner”. The first European installation of the ride type is scheduled for the French Parc des Combes this summer. ■
