Alton Towers Resort Announces New Coaster for 2026
(eap) The Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, England, operated by Merlin Entertainments, has announced a new coaster for its “CBeebies Land” area. It is said to be the world’s first roller coaster themed to the animation series “Bluey”. Starting in spring 2026, fans will be able to take their first rides on the junior coaster. The new attraction will complement the existing offerings in the park centered around the popular TV dog “Bluey” and his family and friends. These already include a meet & greet, a live show, and Bluey-themed hotel rooms, which were opened in May 2024. BBC Studios holds the global distribution and merchandising rights to the animated series.
Since May 2024 visitors can stay in Bluey themed hotel rooms.
“I’m excited to finally announce our new Bluey coaster in CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort – the first Bluey coaster in the world. We can’t wait to welcome Bluey fans and young families from all over the world to the resort. We’re keeping the exact details and launch date under wraps for now but Bluey’s limitless energy is sure to be reflected in our new junior coaster,” emphasizes Sabrina de Carvalho, Senior Vice President at Merlin Entertainments.
Natasha Spence, Events Director, Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, adds: “Loveable and inexhaustible Bluey has captured the hearts of children and adults alike all over the world and we are excited that our much-loved brand is getting its first-ever rollercoaster at Alton Towers Resort. Alongside the resort’s bespoke Bluey-themed hotel rooms, we can’t wait to see fans enjoy the new attraction.” ■
