An Observation Wheel for Hong Kong

Again another mega city announced the construction of an observation wheel. After New York, Moscow and Las Vegas (cp. EAP 5/2012), this time it’s Hong Kong that may add an observation wheel to its attractions. In an official tender notice, published by Hong Kong’s Lands Department, the city addresses potential operators for the setting up, operation and management of an observation wheel. The closing date for submissions is the 14 of December 2012. The attraction is to be built on an about 9,620 square meter large area on Hong Kong Island, in front of Central Pier No. 9 and No. 10. According to the media, the wheel should at least be 50 meters in diameter. According to Spiegel Online, Great City Attractions, operator of the 165 meter high Singapore Flyer, is among the interested parties for this project. (eap)
