Australia: New Adventure Tour through Australian Bush on Wet’n’Wild Buggy

Australia’s Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast waterpark, which is operated by Village Roadshow, recently expanded its sliding and bathing offer by adding a new “dry” attraction, promising adrenaline and adventure for guests. “Wet’n’Wild Buggy” is the name of the new experience: Guests drive a specially designed army spec buggy from Tomcar and embark an off-road track riddled with over 50 different obstacles. The track is 1.5 kilometers long and covers a total area of some 30,000 square meters. The challenges include jumps, water obstacles, tunnels and more, creating a unique driving experience in Queensland. “Adult guests drive the buggies navigating the course, whilst kids also enjoy a true driving experience with our world-first dual-control buggies assisted by a Wet’n’Wild Buggy instructor,” explained Greg Yong, Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast General Manager. The new experience is not included in the price of entry and needs to be purchased separately from park admission.

The park’s operator Village Roadshow recently presented its FY 2016 results, according to which the number of visitors has decreased in the second term of 2016 (July until December) as a consequence of the Dreamworld park tragedy this past autumn, in which four people lost their lives. Ardent Leisure, Dreamworld’s operator, also registered a decline in its financial and attendance figures and expects to be affected by the terrible accident also in the upcoming season. (eap)
