Austria: 2012 Record Year for Eurothermen

Landeshauptmann Dr. Josef Pühringer (li.) und Gen.Dir. Markus Achleitner, GF der OÖ Thermenholding GmbH, freuen sich über das Eurothermen-Rekordjahr 2012.

Thanks to the new attractions in the pirate’s world Aquapulco and the new Cabrio Therme in the Tropicana at EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach, Austria, the EurothermenResorts in Bad Schallerbach, Bad Ischl and Bad Hall were able to set a new visitor record for the year of 2012. 1,490,000 visitors were recorded in 2012, whereas 1,250,000 visitors came in 2011. Compared to the figures recorded prior to 2005, the year in which the thermal spa holding was founded, this represents an increase of 52 per cent. Also the numbers of the overnight stay guests could be increased from 238,000 in 2011 to 259,000 in 2012. With total revenue of 56.6 million Euros, 2012 has been the best year for the company since the Oberösterreichische Thermenholding was founded. And the strategy of the EurothermenResorts remains successful: Despite of the good winter season in the skiing areas, the visitor figures of the thermal spa complexes and the overnight accommodation numbers in the first quarter of 2013 were at the previous year’s level.
