(eap) In mid-August this year, the new film “Das Kanu des Manitu” (The Canoe of Manitou), a sequel to “Der Schuh des Manitu” (Manitou’s Shoe, 2001), celebrated its German cinema premiere. Since then, the Western parody film by and starring director Michael “Bully” Herbig has already drawn around four million viewers to cinemas. At Bavaria Filmstadt near Munich, film enthusiasts now have the opportunity to experience the original set from the production. As a cinematic highlight, the set has been integrated into the Filmstadt Tour – a 90-minute guided tour of the Geiselgasteig media site, which presents a variety of decorations and props from film classics and blockbusters.

The elaborate cave scenery, designed by production designer Bernd Lepel, was transferred directly from the film set to the Filmstadt Tour prior to the movie’s release. Since then, more than 110,000 visitors have viewed the set. Also integrated are the film canoe and the floor piano. An interactive element invites guests to try out the film’s melody themselves by dancing across the piano keys. The floor piano was conceived by the company Attraktion!.

“This is a great addition to the Filmstadt Tour – a set with a real wow effect. We are delighted that visitors are just as enthusiastic about the impressive cave from Bully’s latest box-office success as we are,” commented Valeria Torchiaro-Steinmeier and Stefan Bryxi, who jointly manage the attraction. ■
