Bellewaerde Announces Major Investment for 2026

(eap) Belgian theme park Bellewaerde has announced a major expansion project for its “Canada” themed area scheduled to open in 2026. According to the park, approx. ten million euros will be invested in new rides and gastronomic offerings.
A key element of the expansion will be the installation of a “Wild Swing XL“, a ride with a capacity for 24 passengers, which, according to the park, is set to become the largest of its kind in the world. The attraction will be themed to resemble a historic Canadian sawmill and will be positioned over a pond to enhance the ride experience.

In addition, a 300-metre-long adventure and obstacle course for the whole family will be created, also fitting into the Canada theme and incorporating natural and handcrafted motifs – including features such as a “sawmill workshop” and old boats.
With regard to gastronomy, the existing “Canadian Burger Restaurant“ will undergo a significant expansion and, once completed, will offer a total of 500 seats – doubling its current capacity. The concept includes a warm, wood-accented interior and two outdoor terraces with views of the surrounding greenery. Once the refurbishment is complete, the restaurant building will be heated and cooled using geothermal energy. ■
