Busch Gardens Williamsburg Opens New Family Coaster
(eap) The new roller coaster “The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge” was recently opened at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Virginia, USA). The new ride is an Inverted Family Coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), which reaches speeds of up to 40 miles per hour (approx. 64 kilometres per hour) over a track length of more than 2,500 feet (some 760 metres). With a height requirement of 42 inches (one meter) to take a ride – when accompanied by a supervising companion – the coaster is suitable for the whole family. The name of the ride alludes to the roller coaster “The Big Bad Wolf” (a Suspended Coaster from Arrow Dynamics), which operated in the park from 1984 to 2009.
“The return of the iconic wolf, paired with the nostalgia of our park’s history, struck a real chord with guests, and the early reactions have been enthusiastic across the board. It’s the perfect opportunity for thrill seekers of all ages to create new memories together.”
At “sister park” Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, “Phoenix Rising”, another Inverted Family Coaster from B&M, opened last year. This year, visitors to the park in Tampa can look forward to the new child-friendly themed area “Wild Oasis”, which is scheduled to be accessible as of Friday, May 30. ■
