(eap) Norwegian “socialtainment” company Games and Activities Bars (G&A Bars), which combines food and beverage offerings with activities such as mini golf, darts, billiards and shuffleboard, has expanded into the German market with two new venues of its CHiPPER Social brand, located in Hamburg and Dortmund. A central element at both indoor venues is a custom-designed mini golf course based on an “indoor garden” theme, with various design and decorative elements referencing local landmarks.

CHiPPER Social Hamburg is located right in the heart of St. Pauli’s famous “Kiez” nightlife district and extends across two floors. Several bars, karaoke, darts, shuffleboard and mini golf are designed to attract groups of friends looking to spend an enjoyable time together. Mini golf in particular is regarded as an enduringly popular social activity, and guests in Hamburg can put their putting skills to the test across a total of 18 holes. One of the local motifs incorporated into the course, which was realized by City Golf Europe, is the high-rise bunker at Heiligengeistfeld (“Bunker St. Pauli”).
In Dortmund, the new socialtainment venue is likewise located in a central city-center location and offers a similar mix of activities across 1,700 square meters. Accordingly, this venue also features an 18-hole mini golf course. One particularly themed hole is dedicated to Signal Iduna Park, which is likely to appeal especially to Borussia Dortmund football fans. For both mini golf courses, City Golf Europe was responsible for the entire planning and construction process, delivering the attractions on a turnkey basis.
G&A Bars plans to continue its expansion in the German market. With its existing venues in Norway and additional locations in Denmark, the group aims to become one of Northern Europe’s leading gaming bar operators. ■
