Canada’s Wonderland Opens New “AlpenFury” Launch Coaster
(eap) Since this past weekend, visitors to Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan (Ontario) have been able to enjoy a major new attraction: The new dual-launch coaster “AlpenFury”, manufactured by Premier Rides, was officially opened to park guests. According to the park, this new attraction is the longest, highest and fastest launch coaster in Canada.

The train reaches a maximum height of 164 feet (50 meters) and a top speed of up to 71 mph (115 km/h) along a track stretching over 3,281 feet (one kilometer). The ride takes around 1.2 minutes – during this time, passengers experience a total of nine inversions, which, according to the operator, is a world record for a launch coaster.
Two trains are used, each with 18 seats, which have been designed as modern sleds in keeping with the theme of the attraction. Passengers must be between 54 and 81 inches (1.40 and two meters) tall to ride. According to the narrated storyline, passengers embark on a fast-paced sleigh ride through the fictitious “Wonder Mountain” and beyond, where the elemental forces of fire and ice collide to create a formidable force of nature that is both fearsome and awe-inspiring... ■
