(eap) For the 2022/23 fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2023, the French Compagnie des Alpes (CdA) just published its current results, which are solid with growth in all three business units: “Ski Areas & Outdoor Activities”, “Distribution & Hospitality” and “Leisure Parks”. Excluding non-recurring items, EBITDA for the past fiscal year rose by a total of 3.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Leisure Parks division enjoyed a dynamic year. Sales reached 525.9 million Euros, an increase by 12 percent over the previous year. Excluding non-recurring items reported in 2021/2022, sales were up 13.4 percent. According to CdA, this performance is the result of both a 5.2 percent increase in visitor numbers (a total of 10.6 million guests were welcomed at the 13 CdA-operated leisure facilities) and an almost 7 percent rise in spending per visitor. Both an extension of opening periods and improved visitor experiences and park offerings have contributed to this development (e.g. “Festival Toutatis” at Parc Astérix, read also our cover story in EAP 3/2023).
