Daniel LLanas Named General Manager of Lake Compounce
Daniel LLanas has taken over as General Manager of Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park in Bristol, Connecticut.
(eap) Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park in Bristol, Connecticut, USA, has appointed a new General Manager: Daniel LLanas (photo) succeeds Doug Hemphill, who had led “America’s first amusement park” for the past three years. LLanas brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the leisure attractions and tourism sector to his new role. Most recently, he served as Director of Admissions at the Aquaventure World water park at the luxury resort Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, having previously held various management positions at United Parks & Resorts (formerly SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment).
As the new General Manager of Lake Compounce, LLanas will oversee key areas including park operations, guest experience, financial performance, team development and growth. His primary goal is to ensure that the park continues to provide families from across New England and beyond with a place to create lasting memories together.
“I’m excited to join the Lake Compounce team and the Herschend family as my family and I make Connecticut our new home,” said LLanas. “Lake Compounce has such a rich history and an incredible connection to generations of families, and I’m looking forward to working alongside the team to build on that legacy.”
Founded in 1846 and today operated by Herschend, Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park offers more than 50 rides and attractions. The Crocodile Cove water park will remain open for regular seasonal operations through September 7, while Lake Compounce will welcome visitors to its “Phantom Fall Fest” on selected dates beginning September 19. ■
