Disney Parks Celebrate 250 Years of the U.S. with “Soarin’ Across America”

(eap) To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to celebrate the nation’s milestone as part of the “Disney Celebrates America” program. In this context, a new film for the Flying Theatre attractions “Soarin’” will debut at both the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Titled “Soarin’ Across America”, the new experience will take guests on a virtual flight over some of the country’s most stunning natural landscapes and most iconic cityscapes starting in summer 2026. The film follows on the current version, “Soarin’ Around the World”, which is presently shown at Disney California Adventure Park and EPCOT.
“When production wrapped almost a decade ago on Soarin’ Around the World, we started thinking about where we might go next with the format,” says Tom Fitzgerald, Portfolio Executive Creative Director and Chief Storytelling Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “A trip across the United States felt like a natural next flight for Soarin’ to take, and the 250th anniversary of our nation provided the perfect opportunity to ‘book the flight’”. ■
