Dollywood Theme Park Goes Back to Regular Business after Extensive Wildfires

For more than a week Tennessee’s “Great Smoky Mountains” national park has been affected by extensive wildfires – also the Dollywood Theme Park and the Dollywood DreamMore Resort are located close to the threatened area and had to reduce their regular operation. To provide rapid aid, Dollywood houses firefighters and first responders and supplies personal care items to a shelter at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. Dolly Parton, Founder of the Dollywood Company, hopes that the fires can be stopped soon and feels blessed that her park and DreamMore Resort have been spared. Thanks to the work of firefighters and first responders, Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort is open to guests – the theme park will resume normal operation today. (eap)
