(eap) The world’s first “Double Heart Coaster” from Italian manufacturer Zamperla opened yesterday at Lotte World Adventure in Busan, South Korea. Named “Giant Revolution”, the roller coaster occupies a compact footprint and, with a maximum height of 50 metres, is set to become a defining feature of the park’s skyline.
The 16-passenger train initially launches forwards out of the station before travelling backwards along a part of the track at the opposite end. A second launch then propels the train into the coaster’s double heart-shaped layout. Reaching a top speed of 110 km/h, riders experience a near-vertical dive and two inversions.

“We are thrilled to open the first Double Heart in the world and our second project with the Lotte Group – both in 2026. This is a landmark project for our company and we could not be more thrilled to showcase something this innovative with a partner like Lotte World Adventure Busan. It is a fantastic way to continue to celebrate our 60th anniversary,” said Zamperla CEO Antonio Zamperla, expressing his excitement about the opening of Giant Revolution.
Elisa Dall’Alba, a roller coaster designer at Zamperla, added: “We worked to create a dynamic experience that fit in the smallest space possible. It was a challenging project, but the end result is a great ride that demonstrates how far we have come with our roller coaster design and fabrication.”
According to the manufacturer, the coaster’s footprint measures 70.1 by 21.2 metres, while its track layout has a total length of 323 metres. The actual distance travelled, including the initial forward and backward launches, amounts to 540 metres. The ride offers an hourly capacity of 600 passengers.
Earlier this spring, Zamperla supplied three additional rides to the Lotte Group for its sister park in Seoul: a Junior Coaster, a Speedway 8 and a Sky Tower. Marketed under the label “Integrated Rides”, the concept combines attractions that can be arranged in close proximity to one another, creating a varied, cohesive experience for a broad target audience within a compact footprint. ■
