(eap) With almost 2.9 million visitors, Pairi Daiza – located around 60 kilometres south-west of Brussels in Wallonia – recorded the most successful season in its history last year. Today, a special event is taking place at the Belgian animal park: Park President and Founder Éric Domb and entrepreneur Marc Coucke (co-owner and main investor), together with their teams, are providing members of the press with first insights into the new tropical hall “EDENYA – The Living Sanctuary” during a pre-opening event. From tomorrow, the new highlight will be officially open to visitors.
With the opening of Edenya, the park is completing an investment project of more than 200 million euros, which forms part of the strategic development and expansion of Pairi Daiza. Beneath a four-hectare glass dome, visitors will in future experience an expansive tropical landscape featuring waterways, lush vegetation and a beach. Animals such as jaguars, lemurs and manatees have found a new home here. A collection of 435 ancient artefacts at the heart of the hall is intended to further enhance immersion. In typical Pairi Daiza style, extraordinary accommodation options and an underwater restaurant offering views of the animals complete the experience.
More about the new tropical hall at Pairi Daiza can be found in EAP magazine soon. ■
