(eap) The themed area of the magical city of “Raveleijn” at the Dutch theme park Efteling is being extensively renovated and expanded. The well-known park show of the same name is scheduled to return in a new version from the end of 2026, featuring a revised storyline as well as new show effects. The current main characters will remain part of the production – in addition, new elements are to be integrated into the existing set design of the open-air arena. A souvenir shop and an expanded food & beverage offer will also be added. The current show will be performed for the last time this season.

“Fitting our area vision for full immersion, we are considering the entire area around the park show in this development. The story of Raveleijn lends itself to this perfectly,” explains Koen Sanders, Director of Product, Market and Image at Efteling. “By placing the new attraction outside the open-air arena, we are enlarging the themed area. The park show will undergo a true metamorphosis. That is why it will soon be shown more often than ever before: several times a day and almost all year round. In addition, live animals will no longer be part of the experience. In line with our sustainability vision, we are also opting for more environmentally friendly fire effects. Thanks to the new show effects, the Raveleijn show will once again be highly spectacular.”

Alongside the show, a new attraction will also be realized as part of the redevelopment: directly outside the “city wall,” a compact ride will be created, offering visitors a rotating flying experience that gives the impression of soaring through the air on the wings of ravens. Flowing movements and tilts are intended to provide an intense ride sensation, which promises a real thrill experience. ■
