Eis-Greissler Erlebnispark Opens New Family Attraction “Wiesenwalzer”

(eap) With the addition of the “Wiesenwalzer,” Eis-Greissler Erlebnispark in Krumbach, Austria, has expanded its ride portfolio with a new spin ride. Following the launch of the “Bucklbahn” roller coaster (see EAP 5/2023) and the interactive “Wolkenfänger” carousel (see EAP news from 14 Aug 2024), the Lower Austrian theme park once again focuses on creatively themed attractions for the whole family. The new ride Wiesenwalzer is a Mack Rides TeaCup carousel inspired by traditional country fairs in the Bucklige Welt region.

© Creative Studio Berlin The ride stands out with its triple rotation: while the entire platform spins around a central coffee pot, three groups of three cups each rotate on smaller turntables. Additionally, guests can control the spin of their individual cup. One of the nine cups has been specifically designed to be barrier-free.

Each of the nine cups is uniquely themed and individually crafted, with some even decorated using gold leaf. The creative concept for the attraction was developed by Creative Studio Berlin (CSB). The Wiesenwalzer can accommodate up to 45 passengers, with each cup holding up to five riders (aged four and up and at least one metre tall).

The idea for the Wiesenwalzer originated with the park’s founders, Andrea and Georg Blochberger, who explain: “The Wiesenwalzer symbolises a spontaneous country fair in our beautiful Bucklige Welt region. It’s where people come together to celebrate joyfully with freshly brewed coffee, homemade cake, and of course our delicious Eis-Greissler ice cream – dancing in the traditional waltz rhythm and enjoying the community spirit and zest for life that defines our region.” ■
