Europabad Karlsruhe Invests in New High-Efficiency Pumps

(eap) As part of this year’s annual maintenance period, Europabad Karlsruhe is upgrading its technical infrastructure. One of the main focuses during the three-week closure from 14 September up to and including 2 October is the replacement of nine existing pumps with new high-efficiency models from Herborner Pumpen.

The pumps supply almost all pools at the waterpark. The new generation is expected to deliver further energy savings during ongoing operations. Europabad is receiving public funding covering 40 per cent of the investment. The extensive pump replacement is also said to be one of the reasons why this year’s maintenance period requires a longer than usual.

At the same time, the control cabinets of the building management system are being upgraded. The modernised technology is intended to enable the technical systems to be measured, controlled and regulated even more efficiently in future. In addition, older lighting fixtures in various areas of the facility are being replaced with energy-efficient LED lighting.

Alongside the technical measures, numerous other maintenance, refurbishment and modernisation works are being carried out during the closure period. These include further design upgrades to the sauna area, repainting of the wild-water river, replacement of panels at the “AquaRocket” and refurbishment works in various areas of the waterpark. All slides and other attractions are also undergoing maintenance.

Following completion of the maintenance works, Europabad Karlsruhe is scheduled to reopen to swimming and sauna guests on 3 October. ■
