Expansion of Yas Waterworld: New Adventures in “Lost City”

(eap) Yesterday, Yas Waterworld on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, officially opened its new “Lost City” expansion. This is a continuation of the existing storyline “The Legend of the Lost Pearl” and adds over 13,000 square meters of space and 20 attractions to the water park. The new area was presented to the public for the first time at an opening ceremony the evening before, which was attended by representatives from Abu Dhabi’s tourism authority and executives from the operator Miral, among others.

New attractions include “Al Falaj Race”, the region’s first side-by-side dueling tube raft slide. The new section also offers “Bahamut’s Rage”, a log flume ride with steep drops and splash sections. Younger visitors can look forward to “Al Sahel Junior”, the first mini zero-gravity boomerango slide in the region. Other new attractions such as the desert-themed slide “Al Mafras”, the tube slide “Red Dunes” and family-friendly raft slides “Mataha Madness” and “Sadaf Swirl” round off the offer. The new waterslides were supplied by Canadian manufacturer WhiteWater West.
