(eap) The Danish amusement park Fårup Sommerland (Faarup) can look back on a successful 2025 anniversary season with more than 700,000 visitors, revenue of DKK 191.4 million (around EUR 26 million) and a pre-tax profit of DKK 12.4 million (EUR 1.66 million). In terms of visitor numbers, this is the second-best result in the park’s history. By way of comparison, 650,304 visitors were welcomed 2024. The record was set in 2022 – the year the Vekoma roller coaster “Fønix” opened – with a total of 768,683 guests. Together with the presentation of last year’s results, it was also announced that Ole Mølgaard is handing over his seat as board chairperson to his son Søren Mølgaard after almost 40 years in the role.
“This has been a season we will long remember at Fårup. The 50th anniversary set a very special stage, and our guests responded with a visitor figure we are proud of. We see it as confirmation that the investments and ongoing development we make in the park are hitting the mark,” explains Niels Jørgen Jensen, CEO of Fårup Sommerland.

In addition to the annual accounts, Fårup is marking an important chapter in its history with the change in leadership on the board. Newly appointed board chairperson Søren Mølgaard has a background as director and co-owner of Vækst-Invest and spent several years working with investments, strategy and governance at board level. He also knows the park from his own experience, having worked there as a seasonal employee in his youth.
“Ole has left a remarkable imprint on Fårup’s development journey that can hardly be overstated. With his deep understanding of Fårup’s unique DNA and his ability to bring things together at decisive moments in the park’s history, he has helped set a clear direction for Fårup. We are deeply grateful to him – and at the same time we look forward to welcoming Søren in his new role as chairperson,” says Jensen.
“Fårup is well positioned for the future with a solid foundation behind it. We stay true to the course that has brought us here: investing in the product and delivering world-class experiences,” emphasises Søren Mølgaard. This season, visitors can look forward to the new family attraction “Vingesus” – a “Super Red Baron” ride from Technical Park. ■
