Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s Opening Scheduled for October 2010

It’s official now: the long anticipated opening date of the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, a 25-square kilometer entertainment and recreation destination, will be October 28, 2010. The date was announced in a ceremony at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, at the beginning of May. So the opening will take place three weeks before the second Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The new Ferrari World presents 20 attractions in total, e.g. “Formula Rossa”, a launch coaster from Intamin with maximum speeds of 240 km/h (!) and “The Fiorano GT Challenge”, a dueling coaster /from Maurer Söhne. The theme park will be managed by Farah Leisure Parks Management LLC, a joint venture between Aldar Properties PJSC and ProFun Management Group. (eap)
