Finland: Särkänniemi Adventure Park to Open Angry Birds Land

At the end of last year, the two Finnish companies Rovio Entertainment (computer game developer) and Lappset (playground equipment manufacturer) announced their partnership to develop complete Angry Birds Parks as well as Angry Birds playground equipment. The mobile game Angry Birds is very popular and Särkänniemi Adventure Park in Tampere will be one of the first amusement parks to open an Angry Birds Park. “We wanted to create a unique themed area and associate it with a strong and well-known brand,” says Miikaa Seppälä, Managing Director Särkänniemi Adventure Park. “The Angry Birds characters were born in Finland but known worldwide by people of all ages. This is a perfect fit for our Adventure Park,” says Seppälä. The “Angry Birds Land” is designed in cooperation with the park’s personnel, Rovio Entertainment and BDR Design, an entertainment design company. (eap)
