First Wet’n’Wild Water Park to Open in China

Wet 'n' Wild Haikou Commencement Ceremony

Mission Hills Group, a company in China’s fledgling hospitality, sports and leisure industry, is teaming up with Guangxi Investment Group to build China’s first Wet’n’Wild waterpark. Wet’n’Wild Haikou will be operated by the Australian Village Roadshow Limited (VRL), owner and operator of theme and water parks, including several of the well-known Wet’n’Wild facilities, in Australia and the USA. The 50,000 square meter water park in Haikou will be integrated into the leisure, shopping and entertainment complex Mission Hills Centreville. The opening is scheduled for the last quarter of 2016. While Water Technology Inc. acts as leading design consultant for the 500 RMB (around 73 million euros) project, WhiteWater West Industries will deliver all the slides and other family-friendly attractions. Wet’n’Wild Haikou will also feature an 8,000-square-meter indoor area, creating a whole-year leisure offer. “We look forward to working closely with Mission Hills Group, leader in China’s hospitality, sports and leisure industry, to deliver a world-class destination water theme park to the people of Haikou, its many tourists and of course, all of China,” Tim Fisher, Village Roadshow Theme Parks‘ CEO, says.
