Fresh Momentum in Land van Toos: Toverland Refurbishes “Truukjes”

(eap) The Dutch theme park Toverland in Sevenum near Venlo has announced the comprehensive refurbishment of one of its original attractions. The children’s ride “Truukjes”, which has been part of the indoor themed area “Land van Toos” since the park first opened in 2001, will be technically and visually upgraded and in future operate under the name “Morrels Truckjes”.

While the 55-metre-long track will remain unchanged, the park states that a completely new rail system, a modern control system and new ride vehicles are planned. In future, six vehicles styled as pickup trucks will be used, designed to integrate them thematically into the Land van Toos. The Italian manufacturer SBF Visa, which already supplied the original installation, has once again been commissioned with the technical refurbishment and production of the vehicles. The creative redesign is being handled by Toverland’s in-house department, Merk & Creatie.

From a narrative perspective, the redesigned attraction will place Toverland’s mascot “Morrel” at centre stage. The little pig is set to provide the storytelling framework for the ride, which is also reflected in its new name, Morrels Truckjes. According to the park, reopening is targeted for around the start of the summer season on 28 March. ■
