Futuroscope: All Aboard for the World Premiere of “Mission Bermudes”!
(eap) The Caribbean Bermuda Triangle is surrounded by numerous tales of the sudden disappearance of boats, ships, and aircraft... Whether these mysterious incidents are linked to sea storms, not yet fully understood magnetic forces, or even supernatural powers is often a matter of speculation. The French theme park Futuroscope is now picking up on these ominous-sounding stories and offering its visitors the chance to embark on a journey through the feared Bermuda Triangle themselves: This past Saturday, the new attraction “Mission Bermudes” started in a soft opening phase…
The ride, which marks the first installation and thus the world premiere of the “Rocking Boat” ride type by German manufacturer Mack Rides, combines a roller coaster with a track-guided water ride. On the water sections, a new innovative ride system is used to make the boats’ maneuvers appear especially free and realistic. Riders embark on an adventurous rescue mission into the dangerous Bermuda Triangle, which at Futuroscope is brought to life through canal sections with strong currents, a steep drop, and elaborate theming featuring artificial rocks and lush vegetation.
The new attraction, which will officially open on June 28, marks the completion of a five-year investment program totaling over 300 million euros. Read all about Mission Bermudes in EAP magazine soon. ■
