Germany: “experimenta“ Science Center Reopend with New Exhibition Concept

Featuring a new exhibition concept and state-of-the-art technologies, Germany’s experimenta Science Center located in Heilbronn (federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg) celebrated its reopening this past Sunday. In summer 2017, the visitor attraction was closed for major renovation and construction works. On a total area of 25,000 square meters, the “new experimenta” comprises three theme worlds: “world of discovery”, “world of experience” and “world of research”. Guests of all ages can actively experience science and technology at a number of hands-on stations, in labs and research centers. Highlight of the new visitor offer is the “Science Dome”, featuring a 700-square meter large dome projection screen – the hall can be used for both multimedia shows and virtual journeys to the universe when turned into a planetarium.

Winfried Kretschmann, Prime Minister of Baden-Wuerttemberg, about experimenta: “[…] Here, guests of all ages can experience the world of science in an inspiring, playful way. Also, experimenta offers room for researchers to try out the latest digital technologies. For the region and the city of Heilbronn the experimenta Science Center is a stroke of luck, as the success story of our federal state is shaped by science and technology […],” said Kretschmann.
