Germany: Europa-Park Launches New Logistics Center

(v.l.n.r.): Thomas, Roland, Jürgen & Mauritia Mack freuen sich über das neue Logistik-Zentrum.

After nearly nine months of construction works, Germany’s Europa-Park recently inaugurated its new 8,000 square meter large logistics center, which functions as the new central goods receiving department for the park’s departments of Gastronomy, Shopping & Games, Marketing, Central Purchasing and Human Resources in order to allow a more economic and ecologic management of goods in the future. The new center offers room for up to 2,000 pallets and a large deep-freezing area to store food from minus 18 degrees up to plus 14 degrees Celsius. In total, around 20,000 articles are permanently available, which can be transported easily by the two new routes trains. Furthermore, there are 41 new offices and meeting rooms as well as a new bus stop for Europa-Park’s employees.

“The construction of our new logistics center was an important investment in our working staff and infrastructure and it ensures a still smoother park operation,” explained Jürgen Mack, Co-owner of Europa-Park. His wife, Mauritia Mack, added that around a hundred new jobs have been created with the logistics center, for example in the park’s own production of sweets. Europa-Park invested around ten million Euros in the construction of its new logistics center. (eap)
