Germany: New Center Parcs Allgäu Holiday Park Now in Operation – Leisure Activities Draw Tourists

After a construction period of almost two years, yesterday the new Center Parcs Park Allgäu went into operation, as the sixth and at the same time largest Center Parcs holiday park in Germany (read also our report in EAP, 1/18). On a total area of 184 hectares, the new vacation destination combines 1,000 resort lodgings in four categories, the tropical-themed “Aqua Mundo” bathing complex with a number of waterslides and the Market Dome, featuring a range of restaurants and leisure activities. Some 350 million Euros were invested in the creation of the new park.

“Together with over 300 project partners and thanks to the support of the Allgäu region, we are now able to welcome our first guests to our new Center Parcs destination after a construction period of two years,” commented Frank Daemen, Managing Director of Center Parcs Germany, during yesterday’s opening ceremony. “Park Allgäu combines the very best of Center Parcs with new approaches to holiday experiences, drawing new target groups to one of Germany’s most popular touristic regions.” Located in the tri-city area between Munich, Stuttgart and Zurich (Switzerland), the new Center Parcs Park Allgäu is situated only half an hour’s drive from the Alps.
