Germany: New Exhibition Areas at Legoland Discovery Centre and SeaLife Oberhausen

Tomorrow, Legoland Discovery Centre Oberhausen will open its new “LEGO® Star Wars™ MINILAND” exhibition area. Visitors can look forward to a galactic experience as the area, which is based on the popular “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” movie, features Lego versions of well-known Star Wars characters such as Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan. Furthermore, the guests will have the possibility to interactively experience the Battle of Genosis or to visit the mysterious planet Kamino. From March 15 to April 15, Legoland Discovery Centre will additionally organize LEGO® Star Wars™ event days during which the guests, among other activities, are invited to jointly build an oversized Yoda figure consisting of 50,000 Lego bricks. Children will have the chance to prove their courage and fighting skills at the Jedi training camp and to get their faces painted.

The Oberhausen-based SeaLife aquarium, which like Legoland Discovery Centre is owned by Merlin Entertainments, will introduce a new exhibition area as well: As of mid-March, octopods and octopuses will be the inhabitants of five aquariums located in the new “Octopus Cave” area. Visitors will then be given the opportunity to learn many interesting facts about the intelligent and curious animals that are rarely seen in nature. (eap)
