With 1.22 million guests at Nettebad, Moskaubad and Schinkelbad, 2012 was a really successful year for the Osnabrück-based swimming pool facilities, the best year since the 70s. 721,000 visitors were welcomed at Nettebad, 100,000 guests more than the year before. According to Wolfgang Hermle (pictured left), director of Nettebad, one of the main reasons for the increase in visitors was the new “Sloop” waterslide opened by the end of 2011. The “Loma-Sauna” at Nettbad welcomed 86,000 visitors in 2012 and reached an annual record as well. In order to be able to welcome around 100,000 guests there this year, the entrance area will be expanded. Furthermore, the spa area with massage and beauty zone will be converted into an independent day spa area which guests can use without visiting the sauna as well. The highlight of the expansion measures will be the creation of a new sauna in the outdoor area of Nettebad. The completion is scheduled for April. (eap)
