Germany : Center Parcs Allgäu to Open in Late 2018

Several years ago, the planning and contractual regulations for the construction of Germany’s sixth Center Parcs facility, which will be situated in the city of Leutkirch in the Allgäu region, have started (cf. EAP News from December 19, 2012). Following the purchase of the land and the receipt of the building permit (cf. EAP, issue 5/2015), Groupe Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs and the French real estate investment company EUROSIC have recently signed an agreement which ensures the project’s entire financing. The investment volume is expected to amount to 255 million euros. By late 2018, amongst others, about 750 holiday homes and a large, roofed bathing and wellness area will be constructed on the former ammunition depot site “Muna” in the midst of a 184-hectare forest in Leutkirch-Urlau. “Thanks to its fascinating landscape the Allgäu region is the perfect location for a local recreation holiday and thus perfectly suited for the Center Parcs concept,” Frank Daemen, Vice Chief Operating Officer Center Parcs Europe, comments on the future facility’s location in South Germany between the federal states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
