Happy Birthday! Austria’s EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach Celebrates 90th Anniversary

EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach has developed itself over the years to one of the most popular thermal spas and waterparks in Austria. This summer the bathing complex facility celebrated its 90th anniversary. Since 1922 many millions of guests came to Schallerbach because of the curative thermal water and so the Eurotherme in Schallerbach together with its sister facilities in Bad Ischl and Bad Hall became today’s “largest tourism company of Upper Austria”. The figures speak for themselves: Visitor figures nearly doubled in the last 17 years to more than 700,000 guests per year. The number of employees tripled with a current number of some 380 people and the revenues quadrupled to over 25 million Euros. This success was the basis for a further investment of 30 million Euros in 2010/2011 to expand the location at Schallerbach (cp. EAP 5/2011). “Our success is no reason for us to rest on our laurels … instead it motivates us to further expand our leading position”, says Director of OÖ EurothermenResorts Markus Achleitner proudly.
