Happy Franky Becomes MO.life – EXPLORADO Museum Reopens

The EXPLORADO museum will reopen at the new MO.Life on 9 May.

(eap) The EXPLORADO Abenteuermuseum is returning to Troisdorf near Cologne, Germany: From tomorrow, the interactive museum will once again be open to visitors at the former Happy Franky leisure centre. After Andreas Waschk, founder of the EXPLORADO Group, and Detlef Wintzen, founder of insglück Gesellschaft für Markeninszenierung, had acquired Happy Franky in Troisdorf city centre earlier this year (see EAP news of 18 Mar 2026), the new name of the facility has now also been confirmed: The centre is called “MO.life” from now on.

Besides EXPLORADO museum, MO.life includes further entertainment, sports and gastronomy offerings, such as the Stuntwerk bouldering facility, the Reform & Perform pilates studio and Funderground with laser tag, VR and escape room challenges. The aim with the centre is said to be to create an “inner-city social marketplace for all generations” – a place for encounters, shared experiences and active participation in the heart of the city.

At the EXPLORADO, visitors can expect interactive hands-on stations, physical activities and themed experience worlds across an area of 3,200 square metres, designed to promote shared discovery and active learning. Children are not only to watch here, but also to try things out for themselves, experiment and experience. New features include the additional exhibition area “Planet Gesundheit” (Planet Health). The experience world “Jetzt geht’s los!” (Here we go!) teaches children and families in an interactive way how closely the environment, the climate and their own health are interwoven.

“With the new location in Troisdorf, we are once again creating a place where learning, leisure and shared family time are combined,” explains Waschk. “Today, city centres in particular once again need places where people can meet, spend time together and share positive experiences. This is exactly what EXPLORADO and the MO.life concept aim to contribute to.” ■
