(eap) Opened in 2018, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi plans to expand its current offering of six themed lands with the globally renowned Harry Potter™ franchise: Three distinct lands dedicated to the magical world of the young wizard are set to feature unique rides and attractions, with construction targeted for completion in 2029.
At Warner Bros. World on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Harry Potter fans can look forward to immersive interpretations of the famous “Diagon Alley”, “Hogwarts Castle” and the “Forbidden Forest”, allowing them to delve deeper into the adventures of the young wizard and his friends. In total, the expansion is expected to cover an area of around 63,000 square metres. The leisure destination operated by Miral intends to gradually reveal further details about the future entertainment and attraction offering as well as the anticipated opening date.
Simon Robinson, President Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “The expansion of Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi represents a significant step forward in our commitment to building world-class destinations anchored in the strength of our storytelling. Discovery Global Experiences, whose collaboration brings globally recognised stories and characters to life through imaginative and immersive design. […]”
The three new lands will mark the first Harry Potter-themed worlds at a theme park in the United Arab Emirates. Before they celebrate their grand opening, however, another new signature attraction is set to make its debut: In 2028, “Superman Up and Away”, a flying coaster, is scheduled to be completed, adding a high-thrill ride experience to the park’s existing family coasters “Fast and Furry-ous” and “Tom and Jerry: Swiss Cheese Spin”. ■
