Hofis Erlebnispark: New “Berry” Themed Leisure World to Open in 2026
(eap) Since this past March, construction machinery has been at work on the former site of Western City in Dasing, located just a few hundred meters from the A8 motorway and less than an hour’s drive from Munich. By now, the shell of a nearly twelve-meter-high building is already rising into the air – one of several halls which, together with landscaped outdoor areas, are to form part of a completely new leisure park set to open next year. Berry farmers Thomas and Karin Hofreiter are currently bringing their dream of a “berry-themed” leisure park to life, which is scheduled to open in March 2026 under the name Hofis.
“When my parents opened the first BeerenCafé with our pick-your-own berry fields in Lochhausen near Munich in 2006, no one in our family could have imagined that one day we would embark on such a large and exciting project. I’m delighted with the great team on site and with the fact that so far we are fully on schedule,” explains Thomas Hofreiter, whose family has been farming for more than 50 years, cultivating strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and currants.
Karin Hofreiter, responsible for the creative design of the new leisure park, offers a first glimpse: “We don’t want to give away too much yet, but everything will revolve around our world: the farm, animals, and of course our berries. We want to create a unique and ‘berry magical’ world of experiences for all children and their families. Everyone should feel at home with us and enjoy a wonderful time together. There will also be a children’s book to accompany Hofis Erlebnispark.”
Plans include several rides and attractions, among them an Ultra Family Coaster with “Freedom” trains from supplier SBF-Visa, which will also deliver other family rides from its portfolio. In addition, visitors can expect a diverse gastronomic offering focused on berries. The family’s BeerenCafés – of which there are now three around Munich – serve berry-themed pancakes, creamy milkshakes, hearty “Hof-burgers,” and other treats. Each café also features an adventure playground with a corn maze, water play area, and pick-your-own berry fields. Visitors can therefore look forward to discovering some special offerings that Hofis Erlebnispark will provide when its gates open for the first time on March 27, 2026… ■
