(eap) Karaoke continues to enjoy great popularity in the European leisure market, as demonstrated by the wide range of offerings at entertainment centres and the growing number of easy-to-install pop-up solutions for events.

Leisure operators interested in the necessary hardware and software solutions recently had the opportunity to explore various concepts at the stand of French company KaraFun at IAAPA Expo Europe in London – one of the exhibitors in this product category.

The Lille-based company showcased a new karaoke booth for B2B customers, with several units available for visitors to try out directly at the trade show. According to the manufacturer, the plug & play solution can be installed within a single day and accommodates groups of up to six people. Participants take their seats inside the booth, select one of three game modes – Basic, Music Quiz or Battle – on a screen, pick up their microphones and start singing their chosen song. With around 90,000 tracks in the content library, there is something to suit virtually every musical taste.

The modern booths come equipped with a digital card reader for booking and payment, air conditioning and lighting that groups can control themselves. Thanks to soundproofing, the musical fun stays inside the booth, allowing regular leisure, bar or event operations to continue undisturbed in the surrounding area. For large-scale events, the company also offers its “Giant Karaoke Battle” option, a musical competition in which up to 1,000 participants can take part simultaneously using their own smartphones. ■
