Kentucky Kingdom Gets New Coaster “Flying Fox” in 2026
(eap) The Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Water Park in Louisville (KY, USA) continues its investment strategy and has announced the opening of a new Suspended Family Coaster for 2026. The new ride will be named “Flying Fox” and will be supplied by the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. With a track length of 1,380 feet (around 420 meters), a maximum height of 65 feet (nearly 20 meters) and a top speed of 37 mph (approx. 60 km/h), the around one-minute ride is intended to appeal especially to families. Guests measuring at least 38 inches (0,97 meters) in height will be allowed to ride.

The theming of the new family attraction will be dedicated to agriculture – a key economic sector of the U.S. state of Kentucky. The attraction’s design is being developed by the in-house creative team of the operating group Herschend. In total, 14 million U.S. dollars (about twelve million euros) are to be invested in Flying Fox.
This investment is part of a series of larger expansions at the park: eight million U.S. dollars (approximately 6.8 million euros) were already invested in the new seasonal event “Christmas in Kentucky Kingdom” in 2024, as well as eleven million U.S. dollars (around 9.4 million euros) in the new themed area “Discovery Meadow”, which opened earlier this year (cf. EAP News of 13 May 2025).
“At Kentucky Kingdom, our mission is to create memories worth repeating, and the addition of Flying Fox is the next exciting chapter in that journey,” said Sarah Worrell, General Manager of Kentucky Kingdom. “With the debut of Discovery Meadow in 2025, we set a new standard for immersive, family friendly experiences, and Flying Fox builds on that momentum. This new coaster represents not only our continued investment in the park, but also our commitment to transforming Kentucky Kingdom into a place where families can return year after year and always find something new to discover.” ■
