(eap) The family-owned company KettenWulf, headquartered in Kückelheim, Germany, is planning to establish an additional production site in Auburn, Alabama, in the United States. With the new factory, the company aims to specifically expand its market presence in the United States. KettenWulf is internationally represented with subsidiaries in a total of nine countries, including an existing location in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The company, which celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, develops and manufactures high-performance conveyor and drive chains as well as sprockets for a wide range of industrial applications. These also include components for the leisure and attractions industry, which are used, for example, in drop towers, roller coasters, and water attractions.

“On behalf of the Wulf family, that includes my siblings, Julia and Tobias, and our father, we appreciate the valuable support we have received from the city of Auburn and the state of Alabama that made this possible,” emphasizes Ansgar Wulf, Chief Executive Officer of KettenWulf, Inc. “We are proud to have found our new home in Auburn to serve our customers across the Americas.”

For the new site, the company is planning investments of around USD 34 million and the creation of an estimated 70 new jobs. The strategic expansion reflects the company’s decades-long commitment to being able to serve customers worldwide.

The settlement is also viewed positively at the political level. “KettenWulf’s decision to invest in Auburn speaks to Alabama’s ability to compete and win on the global stage,” says Alabama’s Governor Kay Ivey. “With a highly skilled workforce and deep manufacturing heritage, Alabama’s business climate continues to attract innovative manufacturing companies from around the world.”

Brian Ludvigsen, General Manager of KettenWulf, Inc. stated: “Auburn proved to be the right fit for our operational needs, offering a unique environment for our business while strengthening our presence in the United States market.” ■
